DZMM ‘Takbo Para Sa Karunungan’ gains support

DZMM’s annual fun run to raise funds for deserving scholars has drawn support from the alumni of the St. Jude Catholic School batch 1990, which is backing the “DZMM Takbo Para sa Karunungan.”

“We saw the value of DZMM’s project, and it is about education, which also happened to be our advocacy. We believe that education is the most important factor for the individuals to excel in their lives by getting a better career,” said SJCS ’90 president Francis Yu.

Judenites ’90 will shoulder the scholarship of 20 of the 75 scholars to whom DZMM gives continuous educational support from their first grade in elementary. To formalize a partnership, a signing of memorandum of agreement (MOA) was held and attended by (left to right) DZMM finance officer Andrew Torcelino, DZMM station manager Marah Faner-Capuyan, SJCS’90 president Francis Yu, ABS-CBN Integrated News and Current Affairs head Ging Reyes, and SJCS’90 secretary Jacquelyn Balila.

“DZMM Takbo Para sa Karunungan” is a fun run held annually to raise funds for the chosen students’ education from Metro Manila and Cagayan de Oro that were affected by typhoons Ondoy, Sendong and the Habagat. This year’s event took place last Saturday (March 23) at the Quirino Grandstand, Manila.
