‘MMK’ remains No. 1; Empress stars in heavy drama episode this Saturday

Asia’s longest-running drama anthology “Maalaala Mo Kaya” remains unbeatable as the Philippines’ most-watched weekend TV program as it once again ruled the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) ratings game with a striking 35.3% national TV ratings last July 20 or 14 points ahead of its rival “Magpakailanman” (21.2%) according to data from Kantar Media that covers urban and rural homes nationwide.

Meanwhile, this Saturday (July 27), “MMK” will present another heavy family drama episode starring Kapamilya actress Empress. She will play the role of Claire, a loving daughter who will feel devastated and betrayed by her own family upon knowing the truth about her real identity.

‘Four Sisters And A Wedding’ scores a tour de force during Manila premiere

As soon as the lead stars of Star Cinema’s anniversary offering “Four Sisters and a Wedding” walked down the red carpet at premiere night on June 25, deafening screams filled the local movie theater.  Toni Gonzaga, Bea Alonzo, Angel Locsin, Shaina Magdayao, male lead Enchong Dee, including Director Cathy Molina were met with adulation from fans upon their arrival but were received with more approval from critics as soon as the scenes unfolded on screen.  The stellar attendance and warm reception were foretelling of the opus that was to unfold then and what viewers worldwide will soon enjoy via TFC at the movies.

The winners of the first ever tandem of representatives to pioneer a stronger bond of unity between two cultures were finally declared last June 30, 2013 during the grand coronation night of the first ever Mr. and Miss Chinatown Philippines held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila.
